The only way to achieve what you want in art is practice and having your mind open for inspirations. It may be discouraging at times when you think you're hopeless but always keep in mind that all artists were once beginners. No one is born already talented.
No, I know that, but you said you were out of practice and it still looks really good. Of course I need practice, I've only done digital art for the past few years. I'd love to do that, I just have to get to drawing on the good paper and all that.
The original drawing didn't exactly have the colors I wanted and editing the scanned drawing is an entirely different skill. Good materials make drawing easier but don't instantly grant people with skills.
Little things to consider: The hands are well positioned, but are small compared with the body size. The left forearm is a little short, but the other is perfect Proportions are a hard task always, I have problems with these too U_U
OK, I also slightly enlarged the hands and fixed the colors again. Now I'm happy. I usually avoid having lots of bright colors because I read a tutorial that said the less 'main' colors there are the better. It's also easier.
